Niccolò Grossi

Dr. Niccolò Grossi is Associate Professor at Manufacturing Technologies Research Lab. in the Department of Industrial Engineering of Firenze. He took his master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2011. Then he pursed his PhD, graduating in April 2014, during his PhD studies, he was a visiting student at the Manufacturing Automation Laboratory at University of British Columbia, supervised by Prof Yusuf Altintas. His main research interests are: Machining processes, Chatter vibrations, FE modelling, Experimental Modal Analysis, Process simulation, Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing. He has been involved in several national (funded within PRIN 2022, POR FESR, PNRR Ecosystem and PE) and international research projects (funded within Horizon2020, FP7 programs) as well as research activities funded by private companies. He is author of more than 60 scientific papers.
Antonio Scippa

Antonio Scippa is associate professor at the Department of Industrial Engineering of the University of Firenze, where he took his master’s degree in mechanical engineering in 2001. In 2004 he received his PhD in Machine Design and Manufacturing. The main scientific research interests include mechanical design and manufacturing systems, with special consideration to subtractive and additive processes, and to machining instabilities. He is also an expert of Structural Dynamics, Experimental Modal Analysis, and Finite Element Analysis. On these research subjects, he is author or co-author of about 120 papers, most of them published in peer-reviewed international journals or referred international congress, and he holds one international patent. The abovementioned researches have been developed on the basis of research programmes funded by national and international organizations, as well as industry-driven activities. Since 2022 he is Research Associate of the National Institute for Astrophysics (INAF).
Riccardo Lilli

Riccardo Lilli graduated in Mechanical Engineering at University of Florence in 2022. Currently, he is a PhD student in Industrial Engineering, conducting research activity at the Manufacturing and Technology Research Laboratory, at University of Florence. His main activities are focused on manufacturing process modelling and optimization for aerospace components. His academic interests include machining and additive manufacturing processes, FE simulations, design optimization, and numerical analysis.
Arturo Cioni

Arturo Cioni currently is a PhD student within the Manufacturing and Technology Research Laboratory at University of Florence. He is a Master Graduate in Industrial Engineering and his research efforts now focus on the analysis, modelling and optimization of an innovative additive manufacturing process called “Dot by Dot Wire Arc Additive Manufacturing”.
